Overview
Our Music Department offers a diversified program to meet the needs and interests of each of our students. Students have the opportunity to be members of the following performing groups: Junior Chorus, Senior Chorus, Beginning Band, Intermediate Band, Advanced Band, Beginning Orchestra, and Advanced Orchestra. In addition, there are courses in Beginning Strings, Guitar, and Music Appreciation. A new course, recently introduced, is Music Technology. This course is designed to combine our a student's interest in music with their technological skills. Students perform at concerts throughout the year as well as participating in several field trips.
Music Education Department Goals
1. To recognize and acknowledge the ability level of all our students in order to differentiate instruction to meet their needs.
2. Offer a curriculum that will enable the students to read and notate music, perform in an ensemble, and understand music in relation to history and culture.
3. Develop instructional strategies to ensure that each student reaches their full potential while developing a lifelong appreciation for the Arts.
